Local Charity team, Jennifer Abubakar Abena and her father Magudo have donated $15,000 to local amenities after their huge cash drive gained notoriety. Donations from all over came flooding in over the course of nine months and the Magudo’s now intend to build a new school building, fund supplies to the local hospital and install a water filtration system in the village.

The hospital has taken delivery of a mountain of new equipment which will help with operations, premature births and general sickness. Operating scrubs, scalpels, anaesthetic and surgical equipment was donated among other equipment. The chief medical officer said “It is with great thanks to Jennifer and Magudo that we now have the supplies we treasure. Every little bit of help will mean that we can save more lives, protect more children from disease and perform emergency surgery without having to transport people to the closest town—which is twenty-eight miles away. This helps us to support and help out local community far easier than before. We will always be grateful to them for everything they do.”

His gratitude was unabashed as he thanked the pair for their efforts. The hospital will also be close to the new school which is currently being constructed. The two-storey building is set to house two classrooms, for children of 6-11 and 12-16. The aim is to create a new addition in two years to accommodate a larger amount of children from surrounding villages.

Also on the agenda is the new filtration system. This will make the largest difference to the village because it currently has no clean water supply. The system will encompass a total of five village pumps supplying strategic fresh water to all who live there.
